The Durango Heritage Train Purchase Tickets Now!
Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to experience an 1880’s steam train ride into the Old West. Authentic, historic rail cars full of stylishly dressed Victorians, cowboys and cowgirls make their way north from Durango into untamed territories ruled by robbers and bandits. Famous, as well as infamous, old west characters are known to travel this route. Bring your sense of adventure and get ready for a fun journey into the past. For the first time, the Heritage Train will use the newly-constructed turn-around in the north Animas Valley for its return to Durango. (Victorian or Old West costume is required for this event).
As usual, we have to be on the lookout for robbers when we ride the Heritage Train.
Experience has shown that they're getting more aggressive every year! Silver and "gold" coins can again be purchased prior to departure as insurance for a safe journey. If you should find it necessary to pay for your safety with your silver or gold coins, you can know your investment goes for more than your own well being. Any loot taken on the train will find its way to the Animas Museum/LaPlata County Historical Society. Log on to www.durangotrain.com for year-round operation schedules to see the other train rides available throughout the year on the D&SNGRR.
Your Heritage Train ticket is a great value! With it you get Train Yard tours for only $5.00 and free Train Museum tours! Yard tours are offered at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
