Hand-Made Titanic-Era Gowns
As most of you likely are aware, 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the ill-fated Titanic sinking on its maiden voyage. Therefore, there are many commemorative events around the country, including an entire year of Titanic-related activities through the Molly Brown House Museum in Denver.
As a fund-raising endeavor for the Durango Heritage Celebration, we are offering several hand-made evening gowns in different sizes, styles and colors. This is not Macy’s, however, so these are limited in selection. If the three gowns shown here sell, I would be willing to make two or three additional ones in a particular size.
Interested parties should call Suzanne Parker at 970-382-9298 so that we may discuss details. If you are interested, please note carefully the measurements for each gown shown to see if the dress will fit you. Each can be shortened on the buyer’s end, if needed. Remember that skirt length for this period can be anywhere from ankle to floor. Each of these is fully lined and closes down the back with hooks and eyes. Included is a matching headband of the type seen with original Titanic styles. Buyer pays shipping.
I have put a great deal of time into the design and construction of these offerings and I hope that is reflected in the gowns themselves.
All proceeds will benefit the 2013 Durango Heritage Celebration. Returns are accepted, with buyer paying the return postage. Any gown that does not sell through our website will be offered in The Durango Emporium during the October event. All should be dry-cleaned for best results.
